Swiftcurrent Pass Trail, Glacier Montana

When I think about Summer, I think about long days of non-stop adventure. Particularly, I think of long drives, rving, hiking, BEAUTIFUL mountains, campfires, waterfalls, lakes, rivers and wildlife. To put all of those descriptions into one word...it would be Montana! Montana definitely stole my heart. As January quickly rolls in, I start to look forward to Summer and all it's glory. My thoughts of Summer quickly draw me back on our very first family summer rving road trip. Ah, it was a trip to remember for sure. And one I will never forget. Im sure it will be the talk of many campfire stories we will share with our kids when they get older. We saw SO much on this trail - Keoni also spotted a bear on the mountain and we all fought over the one binocular we had to get a good look at it. We also spotted a moose lounging by the lake. After the long 12 mile hike we went back to our campsite and later soaked our tired muscles in the hot tub. Before I went to bed that night I remembered looking out at the big Montana sky above me and actually seeing the Milky Way brightly shining above. It was truly incredible...and all I could think to myself was "God's work is so amazing!" I never understood why they called Montana God's Country until I came here and saw it firsthand.

It was a beautiful summer day in August and we woke from our trailer at the KOA St. Mary Glacier campground on the east end of Glacier National Park. The views were amazing right from our doorstep. We ate breakfast and headed out to the Swift Motor Inn parking lot where the trail head to Swiftcurrent Pass started. But first Shane made sure to stop and get us some bells because he was certain he didnt want to encounter any bears on our hike lol.
