RV Winter Camping - Whistler, Canada

Winter camping was truly a unique experience. It was our first time and a lot easier than I thought it would be. Towing through the mountain pass was not that bad as long as you are equipped with the right set-up: proper tires, chains (just in-case) and a lot of patience (stay in the right lane and let the others pass). We arrived at Whistler RV Park and Campground about 3pm and was able to park and set up before the sun went down.

Whistler RV Park and Campground is about 15-18 min to Whistler Village/Blackcomb and a great home base. It is Whistler's in-and-out snowmobile park so if you have a snowmobile, you can ride to the trails straight from your camp spot! Although it should be noted that the road up to the campground is a bit steep so 4X4 and chains are very helpful. We slipped a little going up in 4 high around some corners but made it up just fine. Going down we made sure we chained up our rear tires to avoid slippage of our primary vehicle and avoid the trailer pushing us. It was a dream and it was like towing down with no snow.

Our first winter camping experience was truly amazing. I love our travel trailer, it allows us to camp all season long with the comforts of our own home and offer different seasonal scenery. You can park it anywhere your heart desires and have a new back yard. Nothing beats that.

Happy camping! Cheers to 2019!!!
